Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Don't I lose heat by closing the over door over the tube? I mean, isn't the door still open a crack?

A: No, you actually don't lost heat and the oven door remains completely closed. Just make sure your oven has a rubber gasket in the door frame. It molds to the tube. Some really old ovens don't have the gasket, but we tested every oven at Home Depot and they all maintain the seal perfectly. Let us know if you don't have the gasket and we'll make sure you get a narrower tube that will work with your oven.

Q: I've never heard of basting with any liquid other than what's in the roasting pan. What gives?

A: Well, you have to expand your horizons a little bit. Sure you can use pan drippings, but we include the shorter, external tube (that does not extend into the oven) so that you'll try something new. There are many other liquids that not only flavor the roast but also contribute to a great pan sauce. If you must use pan drippings, send us an extra $5.00 and we'll include another silicone tube long enough to suck up those juices from the pan.

Q: What if I buy one and it don't work?

A: We're extremely confident that's not going to happen. We're so confident that if you aren't happy with your baster, we'll give you a 100% refund. Or, if you supply the beer, Josh will bring a chicken over to your place and make the best roasted chicken you've ever had.
